Black History Told By the Prophets
In this article I want to discuss Black prophecy in the Bible. YES! The Bible tells the past and present history of Black people, especially the children of Jacob (or Israel). Let's start our journey by first establishing that the people we are referring to in the Bible are indeed people of color (Black people).
Starting at Genesis 5:32, Noah had three sons. Ham, Shem and Japheth. First we'll look at Ham; ( Funk and Wagnall's New Standard Bible Dictionary reads:" Ham - is derived fro the Egyptian word Chem or Keme, which in the Egyptian language means "black"). Smith"s Bible Dictionary reads that Ham means "hot" or "sunbunrt". So Noah's son Ham sired (Genesis 10: 6-20) Canaan, Egypt (Mizraim), Cush (Ethiopia), and the Philistines etc... Ham fathered the African nations, who are Black !
Now let's look at Shem's descendants in 1Chronicles 1:17-28,34. Through Shem came Abraham, Isaac and Jacob (Israel). Our focus is on Jacob (Israel) who sired the 12 Tribes of Israel. They grew into a nation which can't be numbered, which the scripture will show us is a black people. First, let's start in Exodus 1:15&16. When Moses, an Israelite of the tribe of Levi, was a baby, the Pharaoh of Egypt made a decree that all Israelite male babies must be killed. But Exodus 2:1-10 tells us that Moses passed for Pharaoh's grandson - a child of Pharaoh's daughter. How come Pharaoh couldn't tell the difference between a black Egyptian child and an Hebrew Israelite baby? Because the Israelite baby was black like an Egyptian royal baby would be.
Let's go further. In Exodus 4:1-7, Moses wanted to show his people that the living God of our father's had spoken unto him and had sent him to free the Israelites from their Egyptian captivity. One of the signs that Moses had to show Israel to prove that God had really talked with him was to put his hand into his bosom in front of the whole congregation. When he pulled it back out, his hand had turned white as snow. Now the sign was that his hand turned white. If Moses was a white man it would not be a big deal for his white hand to come back out of his bosom still white. But since he was a black man this undoubtedly was a sight to see.
Let's go further, back to Genesis 42:1-15, to Joseph one of Israel's sons. Joseph couldn't be recognized by his own brothers after he had been in Egypt for many years. They thought he was an Egyptian, why? Because he looked just like the other Egyptian officials who were all black or dark skinned.
Read Daniel 7:9 for the description of the Messiah, Yahshua (Jesus). He was a Hebrew Israelite of the tribe of Judah. HE WAS BLACK.
Read Acts 21:37&38 about the guard who thought Paul (An Israelite from the tribe of Benjamin) the Apostle to the Gentiles, was an Egyptian. Also, in Acts 13:1 Simon (another Israelite apostle) was called Niger. According to Strong's Concordance's Greek dictionary of the New Testament (id#3526) Niger means Black. So we have seen briefly, that the Israelites (or Jews) are a black people.
Now let's see what did and what is going to befall those Black people if they refuse to keep the commandments of the Living God. Deuteronomy 28:1, 14-17, 28, 29 32, 36, 37, 41, 43-49, 61, 64-68 tells us that if Israel failed to keep his commandments, that he would send them into captivity again, in ships, into every nation under the sun. How did our fathers get here Mr. Blackman ??
Deuteronomy also says that they would be oppressed and crushed always. The strangers (other nations) that are among you rise up very high and thou shalt fall very low. You also won't be able to lend to them, but they will only lend to you. What banks do you own black man ? Who can you lend to as a people ? Who owns all of the stores in your community ? Face it ! Your face isn't on any dollar bills and you are a borrowing people. We have no real economic power as a people.
The Lord also said that Israel ( a black people) would become a byword and a proverb among all nations wheresoever he would send them. Bywords and proverbs are nicknames and stories of ridicule. For instance, it was said that we are beasts, that black people had tails, that we are an ignorant species with a low intelligence and were created only to be slaves. These and other stories were told about black people. We are called by proverbs such as "black", "coon", "cushi", "nigger", "negro", "African American", "afro-American" etc.....
I ask you readers, what is your nationality ?? Some will say one of the above. Mainly, African-American or Afro-American. But Africa is a whole continent and Afro is a hair style. People who are from Africa will not say they're African. They will tell you what tribe or country they are from such as, Zulu, Watusi, Nigerian, Egyptian, Ethiopian etc... Even Europeans won't call themselves European-American; but they will say what country they are from such as, Polish, German, Italian, French etc... But not us Black people. Ask yourself, WHY?
Let's look at other curses and conditions that would come upon Israel (black people). Ezekiel 4:12&13 says that during their captivity,
Israel will eat defiled bread (food) among the Gentiles (nations). Who do the strangers that open up stores and take out spots in your community sell unclean and expired food to? Think about it.
Jeremiah 12:7-10 says that Israel had become like a speckled bird. None of the other birds (or nations) like him. Who likes you Mr. Black man? They use you only for labor and for a means of entertainment. They make a mockery of you , kill you and disrespect you.
You're just a commodity and an object of ridicule. Jeremiah 2:14 says that Israel is a home born slave. Isaiah 42:22-25 says your sons shall be packed in prison houses. Statistics say it's YOU Mr. Blackman.
Isaiah asked, "Who will give ear to this?" (Seeing that your people are in a state of perfect destruction; who will read, give ear and consider this?) He also says in 51:20 that your young men will be on the corners, like a bull in a net, full of the fury and rebuke of their God who they and their parents have disobeyed. What young men hang on street corners, full of fury and wrath? Walk through your neighborhood tonight Mr. Blackman and be honest about the things you see among your people that identically match what The Lord said would befall his chosen people (Israel-black people) when they turned against his commandments.
Who do these misfortunes fall upon. These curses fit the black children of slaves, perfectly, all over the world !
Now we have a few commonly asked questions that we will state along with answers to the questions and as you follow along, these may be questions you would have after hearing some of the biblical facts stated in this literature.
Q) Why is Israel (black people) the tail of the nations and not the head ?
A) Deuteronomy 28:43&44 reads: "The stranger that is within thee shall get up above thee very high; and thou shalt come down very low. He shall lend to thee and thou shalt not lend to him: He shall be the head, and thou shalt be the tail.
Q) Why don't we have a land of our own that we rule and control?
A) We are the only people in the world today that was taken out of our land by ships and brought to another country where we remain even unto this very day. We are the only people that are waiting to be redeemed back to our own land and no amount of money can buy us out of this condition.
Deuteronomy 28:68 reads: "And God shall bring thee into Egypt again with ships, by the way whereof I spake unto thee, thou shalt see it no more again: and there ye shall be sold unto your enemies for bondmen and bondwomen, and no man shall buy you."
Q) Why don't black people (the house of Israel) know their true nationality ?
A) Deuteronomy 28:36&37 reads: " The Lord shall bring thee and thy king which thou shalt set over thee, unto a nation which neither thou nor thy fathers have known; and there shalt thou serve other gods, wood and stone. And thou shalt become a proverb and a byword among all nations whither the Lord shall lead thee".
Deuteronomy 29:24-28 reads: " Even all nations shall say, wherefore hath God done thus unto this land? What meaneth the heat of this great anger? The men shall say, because they have forsaken the covenant of the Lord God of their fathers, which he made with them when he brought them forth out of the land of Egypt: For they went and served other gods and worshipped them, gods whom they knew not, and whom he had not given them: And the anger of God was kindled against his land, to bring upon it all the curses that are written in this book: And God rooted them out of their land in anger, and in wrath, and in great indignation, and cast them into another land as it is this day.
Q) Why do our people eat the worst food like pig, lobster, various junk foods etc…
A) Deuteronomy 28:17 reads: " Cursed shalt thou be in the city, and cursed shalt thou be in the field".
Ezekiel 4:12-15 reads: "And thou shalt eat it as barley cakes, and thou shalt bake it with dung that cometh out of man in their sight: and God said, even thus shall the children of Israel eat their defiled bread (food) among the Gentiles (the nations) whither I drive them. Then said I, ah Lord ! Behold, my soul hath not been polluted: for from my youth up even till now have I not eaten that which dieth of itself, or is torn in pieces; neither came there abominable flesh into my mouth. Then he said unto me, lo, I have given thee cow's dung for man's dung,
and thou shalt prepare thy bread therewith."
Q) Why is it always open season on our people? Why is it that every time a policeman murders one of our people it is always a "justifiable homicide" ?
A) Deuteronomy 28:64-67 "And God shall scatter thee among all people, from one end of the earth to the other; and there thou shalt serve other gods which neither thou nor thy fathers have known, even wood and stone. And among these nations shalt thou find no ease, neither shall the sole of thy foot have rest: But the Lord shall give thee there a trembling heart, and failing of eyes and sorrow of mind. And thy life shall hang in doubt before thee; and thou shalt fear day and night, and shalt have no assurance of thy life. In the morning thou shalt say, would God it were even! And at even thou shalt say , would God it were morning! For the fear of thine heart wherewith thou shalt fear, and for the sight of thine eyes which thou shalt see.
